The Karnataka State Film Awards 2020 was announced with Prajwal Devaraj and Akshatha Pandavapura as Best Actor and Actress for Gentleman and Pinki Elli, directed by Prithvi Konanur, won Best Film.
The selection committee was led by B.S Lingadevaru, posthumously awarded Sachari Vijay with a Special Jury Award for his acting.
Karnataka State Film Awards is the most notable and prestigious award given in the Kannada Film Industry in Karnataka, India.
It was organized by the government of Karnataka to honor the best talent and to provide encouragement and incentive to the Kannada Film industry. The awards are a committee and a panel of judges.
The jury consists of eminent personalities from the same field. The award’s main motive is to promote film with artistic values and to encourage artists, technicians, and producers.
The Awards are declared by the Minister for Cultural Affairs and are presented by the Chief Minister of Karnataka.

2020 Karnataka State Film Awards
The 2020 State Film Awards Selection Advisory Committee was chaired by the National Award-winning director B.S. Lingadevaru along with journalist Padma Shivamogga, director Umesh Nayak, production manager D.R. Sampath, veteran actress Padma Vasanthi, cinematographer Manjunath R, cinema analyst Ivan De Silva, music director Gururaj, and joint director Naveen R.C.
