Early Life
Janhvi was born on 7 March 1997 in Mumbai, Maharashtra India. She started her career in the film industry in an early age. Her name Janhvi was inspired by ‘Urmila Mandotkar’s character in the film ‘Judaai‘(1997).
Sridevi who was pregnant at that time, chose the name because she and Urmila developed a close bond during the film’s shoot.
In her school days, Janhvi was interested in literature and history. She is interested particularly in the history of Nazi Germany.
She did not attend Dhirubai Ambani International School as his parents’ relationship is controversial and trolled or reported by many media houses.
According to her, she did not correct it, believing that the school had a reputation for highly intellectual students.
In 2015, Janhvi had the opportunity to debut opposite Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu, but she refused because due to a large age gap between them.

Jahnvi Kapoor was once rumored to be dating actor Ishaan Khatter and she was later linked and came closer to an entrepreneur and event manager named Akshat Ranjan, who also happens to be her childhood friend.

Jahnvi’s Career
Her mother was initially not happy with Jahnvi’s decision to join Bollywood, she wanted her to get married and settle down.
She also preferred Jahnvi to choose a career in medicine and become a doctor instead of an actor.
Jahnvi was about to debut in Karan Johar’s ‘Student Of The Year 2‘ earlier, but the film got postponed, and Karan decided to launch her in ‘Dhadak‘ instead.
Kapoor made her acting debut with Dhadak (2018), with Ishaan Khattar playing the male lead and directed by Shashank Khaitan under the Dharma Productions banner.
She initially struggled to speak Hindi, but she managed to speak both Hindi and Rajasthani languages fluently in the film ‘Dhadak‘.
The film received predominantly negative reviews but with a worldwide collection of ₹1.1 billion, it proved to be a commercial success.
In 2019, Kapoor’s performance in the movie won her the Zee Cine Award for Best Female Debut.
She was initially picked up for the movie ‘Simbaa‘ co-starring ‘Ranveer Singh‘, but she declined the offer because she was getting nervous about acting with such a popular actor.
Kapoor’s next screen appearance came in 2020 when she played the role of a young nurse in the short story directed by Zoya Akhtar which was released on Netflix.

Anupama Chopra praised the “sweetness and sincerity” the actor brought to the role but deemed it significantly less impressive compared to Ben’s performance.
Despite this, the film emerged as a box-office bomb. She received another Best Actress nomination at the Filmfare Awards.
Kapoor starred opposite Varun Dhawan in Nitesh Tiwari’s Bawaal (2023), a romantic drama about a feuding couple who learn about World War II as they travel across Europe. It was released digitally on Amazon Prime Video.
The movie faced criticism for trivializing the Holocaust. Beatrice Loayza, in her review for The New York Times, pointed out the absence of chemistry between the main characters and described Kapoor as lacking charisma.
Leaf Arbuthnot from The Guardian similarly criticized the film’s chemistry while acknowledging Kapoor’s “calm, mature performance.
Kapoor next appeared in the sports film Mr and Mrs Mahi alongside Rajkummar Rao and will play a young Indian Foreign Service officer in the political thriller Ulajh.
She will also feature opposite N. T. Rama Rao Jr. in the Telugu action film Devara by filmmaker Koratala Siva.
